Did Black people really make America what it is today? (read details)?

why was my question deleted, do white supremasicts control yahoo, I was simply expressing the fact that had it not been for Afro-Americans this country would not be half of what it is today

We all know that this country was built from the ground up by the free labor of kidnapped African slaves and their descendants, who worked and toiled in every way possible and got this country on its feet. Also many black inventors were never recognized because they were not given credit for their inventions but the first white person to discover and take credit for their invention would be rewarded.

Black inventions include but are not limited to:

among other things
EDIT: EDIT: The website that Jack Mehoff has posted can be easily found on google by typing "black inventions" it is a site created by a racist white man whos mission is to discredit black people

I have seen that site a while back and it is utter BS.

we definately built America, and went unrewarded

and funny how we now need a black man to fix the mess a white man made, and get this country back on track

I also agree with the guy above me

Solar power generator?

Posted by admin on October 30, 2009

I need to build a solar power generator that can power a double wide trailer with a 35 inch TV, refrigerator, washer & dryer, laptop, 3 clocks, and an air conditioner all at the same time. We don’t use the washer & dryer all the time but when we have family over they wash they’re clothes as we play video games. I want to same energy so I want to know how big I can make it, can someone help me? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY! NO SPAM, NO JOKES!

You do not need a generator!!!! What you need is Solar Panels and a place store the energy you don’t use at night.

Why are the blades on turbines not much wider (more surface area)?

Posted by admin on October 30, 2009
Posted under Uncategorized

As a non-mechanical engineer is not that obvious to me, but if we look at design of sails and commercial aircraft wings, bigger surface area means more power or more lift. Why is this larger area power gain concept not applied to the design of wind turbines? Including vertical turbines which seem to have even thinner blades.

needs a much bigger force (wind) to move it.
can’t rely on a 20 mph wind, better to harness a 5 mph wind.

but please, make an effort to give ME a thumbs down because you like to.

grants or refunds for solar/wind powered home?

Posted by admin on October 30, 2009

I have an off-grid solar and wind powered home in upstate New York. I was told that President Obama has restructured going green incentives and large refunds and grants might be available. I recently have added new wind generator equipment and would also like to add more solar panels, does any one know how I can find out what I might be eligible for ?

Check out GovBenefits.gov http://www.govbenefits.gov for a listing of all government assistance programs you are entitled to based on your description

Would replacing all our fossil-energy sources with solar and wind power be practical?

Posted by admin on October 30, 2009
Posted under Alternative Energy Solutions

All have some advantages and disadvantages.

Would it make sense to abandon all our current fossil fuel power sources and replace them with windmills and solar panels? Would we see a major decrease in CO2 levels as a result?

No, it is not possible nor practical.

Reasons:
1. Solar only gives you power during the day, if the sun is out. The more cloud cover you have the less solar production you get.
2. Snow cover on solar panels stops all solar production. Dust and dirt on your solar panels reduces production.
3. Wind energy from windmills/wind farms depends on weather patterns for good production.
4. Wind and solar energy production can not match the load for energy use.
5. At current costs and values, if you do NOT have a subsidy, wind and solar project have a 20 – 30 year simple payback. Life of those projects is often less than 20 – 30 years thus the life cycle cost is a negative, not a positive.

According to NASA, Dr. Hathaway, we could be headed into a new Dalton Minimum. that would mean global cooling not global warming. If you believe in AGW, then you might want to start lobbying for MORE CO2, not less.

EDIT:

Solar Panel Ratings approx 100 W per sq yd

2.5 Million Mega watts = 2.5 x 10^10 sq yd of solar panels

2.5 x 10^10 sq yd = 3,097,600 sq mi

Now you generally rate thee panels at 80% for production. Standard system design offset. So you need to divide that number by 0.8

Solar Panel area = 3,872,000 sq miles

To get a constant generation of 2,500,000 mega watts, you will need to make this area still alrger allowing for weather dust snow etc.

So you have an area approximately 2,000 miles by 2,000 miles. covered 100% by solar collection panels. This does not leave much room in the lower 48 for farms, forests, cities, homes, rivers, lakes…

My source? I design and install these systems.

Who could be potential WWE Raw guest hosts from this list?

Posted under Alternative Energy Solutions

I was bored so I came up with this list
ALUMNI
Jeff Hardy
Stone Cold
The Rock
JBL
Jonathan Coachman
Mike Adamle
RVD

CELEBRITIES
George Bush
Seth Macfarlane
Stan Lee
Eminem
Snoop Dogg
Miley Cyrus
Jonas Brothers
Lady Gaga
Octomom (with her kids)
Tom Cruise
Taylor Swift and Kanye West
Conan O Brien
Jay Leno
Christian Bale (as Batman) and Aaron Eckhart (as Two Face)
Michael Buffer
Harvey Levin
Matt Groening
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
Ed Boon
Jimmy Fallon
Michael Jordan
Dan Didio
Paul McCartney

Your thoughts?

Anyone you name can be a host, with exception to maybe Ed Boon since most don’t know who he is.

Then again, I never heard anyone rant and rave about Jeremy Piven before he hosted, so anything’s possible with the waste of money and time. As long as it gets them the publicity they want. they don’t care.

what is advantages and disadvantage of wind power electrical generator?

Posted by admin on October 28, 2009
Posted under Uncategorized

Advantages:
Emissions free as no fuel is burnt
Less fixed cost compared to thermal or hydro plant
Friendly to eco system and against global warming
Less noise pollution

Disadvantages:

can only be installed in areas with high winds
can only be installed with small power outputs compared to thermal or hydro power.
depending on the wind and weather conditions
interrupted power production.

i was looking up buying a wind power generator when i read about grid feeding.?

it said that the unused energy you produce can be used to go into the power grid and and that ultility companys will pay you so much per KWh. does anyone know where this might be offered in the united states and what the rates may be?

PURPA, the Public Utility Regulatory Policies Act of 1978, requires all electric utilities in the US to buy back excess power from wind generation.

Rates vary by state and utility, however. See the link below.

im thinking about my solar options and wind generator use?

but i dont know of usa companys only do you have an idea

One solar option you might want to consider is Citizenre. They pay for everything – installation, the panels themselves, maintenance, etc. You pay a monthly fee based on how much solar energy you use, just like with the electric company. However, Citizenre locks in a fixed rate, so that when your electricity rates go up (as is going to continue to happen), your solar rates stay the same, so you save a bit of money.

It’s kind of like renting solar panels rather than buying them. I signed up for it myself today.
